question about ectopic pregnancy

i think i may be having an ectopic pregnancy, but i'm not sure, i need some information from anyone who has ever had one. the only problem i've been having is a slight ache on my left lower side. no period no cramping or anything like af is on the way. i'm hoping that it isnt what i think it is. i need some help and advice. thanks. amywike

I've not had personal experience with an ectopic pregnancy, but my sister did. She had a burning pain in her shoulder and cramping. The burning pain occurs when your tube actually ruptures. I had some pain like you are describing in the early weeks of my pregnancy and it was from a cyst on my ovary. It actually grew to be the size of 2 golf balls on my left ovary, but the farther I got along in my pregnancy, the smaller it got until it went away. I would call the doctor, even if it turns out to be nothing, it's better than waiting and worrying.

i appreciate you replying, i think its a cyst like you said and like i thought. i just hope it doesnt affect what i think is a pregnancy. i will test next week, if i dont start, which i really dont think i will, there is nothing to indicate that it will start. thanks for talking, bye, amy wike

I just went to the doctor for the same thing. I had slight cramping in my lower left side and he said not to worry unless there is some spotting. I let him know that I was worried about ectopic pregnancy and he said that it is very common for women to feel that during pregnancy. Not to worry!
