Has anyone used these? are they better than the regular plastic lever locks for cabinets? I know they are expensive and wonder if they are worth it.

We have them in the bathroom since there are no handles on the doors. I must say these are the only locks my kids can't open. I am actually considering replacing some of my other 'safety' locks with these.

They are completely child-proof. We have them on the cabinets in our kitchen and in our master bath. They are expensive, but they work. They are easy enough to de-activiate if you need to be in and out of cabinet a lot.
They can be a bit tricky to install. I think it took dh around an hour to install ONE lock. Once he got the hang of it though, the rest went on easier. He was petrified of drilling through the cabinets.

My in-laws have those in their kitchen (God bless them for babyproofing!) and I think they are superior because with the other kind of cabinet lock, little fingers can at least get partially in. With these, not at all. The only drawback is if you forget where you put the magnet opener thingy! But that seems a small drawback IMO

My friend had these, and I thought they were the coolest thing ever! I bought some when Kieran became mobile, but I have to say that I have not been able to get a single one installed. I think I'll have to have them professionally installed.

LOL! We put them in and on the first one we put a hole through the cabinet! I agree the instructions were horrible but once we figured them out they went in pretty quickly. I need to buy some spare magnet keys though.
For anyone else thinking of buying these they have a lever to deactivate them if you need too.

I highly recommend them because they are completely safe and they don't change the appearance of the cabinet. Unless of course you drill right through!LOL!! In our house they are also MIL proof! We have had these for 2 years and she still doesn't understand how to open them!

We originally put in the regular plastic latches, and DD figured them out in no time. DH wasn't very happy that he had to reinstall all new locks, but these magnet ones work great. They are difficult to install though, and DH drilled through the very last cabinet. :( They are also great for the inlaws house because there is a lever on the lock that can be flipped to deactivate the lock. This way they don't have to deal with the magnets when the grandkids aren't visiting.
I have them and love them.
While we have not ever lost our "key" I know others who have so it might be worthwhile to purchase a spare!
