1. What is ERC?

2. What is the difference b/w a hospital birth center and a hospital maternity ward? (From the poll. )

1) ERC = Elective Repeat C-Section.

2) A birth centre is a unit, often staffed by midwives, seperate from the normal labour and delivery unit - usually more of a "homey" atmosphere. Labour, delivery & recovery are done in the same room. Not all hospitals have them, and some that claim to really don't, so you have to look for yourself.
