I am soooo tired of filling up the sink to mop the floors! I've been thinking about getting a Swiffer WetJet...anybody out there that's used one want to share their opinion???

I have one and I like it for occassional spills. I still like my floor to be scrubbed the old fashioned way every couple of weeks though.
A couple of things, it does need batteries. Also, it sprays a LONG way so be sure it is back a few feet from carpet before spraying. The solution is fairly strong and chemically but not unbearable.

I have one, and actually love it a lot, BUT, if you have pets, you MUST SWEEP before using it, all in all though I really like it...of course I still go over the floors on my hands and knees but this prevents me from having to do that as much :)

Love it for now and then cleanups, now I only have to really mop about once a month. :)

I've never used one of these (a battery operated mop ?), but here's my between-moppings clean-up technique: a wet dishcloth. Seriously! I just swipe up spills or sticky spots as needed; it takes only a few seconds and involves no equipment. :)

I don't like mine. It leaves my floor a little sticky and streaky and doesn't clean all that well, but maybe I am wrong to try to use it as a real mop, and I have laminate floor.

Ditto! I'm giving mine to my SIL.
I like ours for between-the-washing clean-ups. It is only sticky or streaky if I don't sweep the loose dirt up first or if I have let the pad get too dirty.

I must have a really dirty floor, because I always do this, too, and I still get sticky/streaky results

It doesn't clean well. The chemicals are strong smelling and I don't even know what they are and you have to use their chemicals, not your own cleaners.
I might sell mine at a garage sale.

I actually like mine. Our house is all hardwood floors, with linoleum in the kitchen and bath. I think it leaves both clean and shiny looking. And it is super handy for a quick cleanup.

I don't use the Wet Jet, but I use the wet pads that you can get with the regular swiffer. They work pretty well for quick cleanups, but I still need to get down on the floor and scrub every now and then. But it's not bad for touch-ups.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Swiffer WetJet!!! It is so easy to get it out and mop the floor without having to mix up mopping solution. It leaves my floors really clean and I haven't noticed a problem with residue. The thing I like is that I can just throw those pads away after I mop. I do vaccum the floor before using the Swiffer. I think it cleans better than using a mop on my floor. And I pretty much use it everyday. With 5 kids, there is always something to clean up!

What kind of floors do you have? If you have laminate many people complain that it leaves streaks. Some stranger at Target even (successfully) talked me out of buying one. I tried the Swiffer wet pads and those are junk as well. Left a film on my floor.
If you have tile, because the Swiffer has a flat, hard surface, it might be hard to get the grout lines and crevices really clean. I'd use a regular sponge or rag mop for that.
Right now for my laminate I use a flat terry cloth mop and the Pergo spray cleaner that Home Depot sells - works great. (even tho my laminate isn't Pergo, it's Wilsonart, still works just fine)

I couldn't live without my Swifter Wetjet. When I had MIL with Alihzimers and toddler -- I would have gone out of my mind wihtout my Wetjet. Even with just a toddler, it's a lifesaver.

I also love my wet jet. I do not like their solutions, however.
There is a syndicated columnist called the Everyday Cheapskate who addressed this recently (I had been filling the bottle using my favorite hardwood floor cleaner, Murphys with a large bore needle and enormous syringe--that's how much I like my wet jet;) ). She suggests cutting a fill hole in the top of the bottle, using it to refill and then using packing tape to cover the hole. I haven't had the chance to use this technique yet, last time I removed the bottle I punctured it and will need to get a new one :)

I love the Swiffer Wet Jet! I do use their cleaning solution; I have honestly never smelled anything. I have never had a problem with streaks; I have a ceramic tile floor in the kitchen and hardwood in the foyer. I do suggest that you sweep, or, even better, quickly vacuum before using.

I like it for fast clean ups on the ceramic tile. Not on other floor surfaces.
